Product Knowledge Product Knowledge is a highly participative and engaging 5-day course that is designed to help buyers make better buying decisions by providing them with a solid understanding for every aspect of shoemaking.

The course is facilitated by highly skilled and experienced footwear specialists, and covers ever aspect of shoemaking, from understanding materials, principals of design, shoe construction methods to  various manufacturing processes.

Learning Outcomes
  • Demonstrate an understanding of different footwear materials, different components of a shoe and different construction processes
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to draw a shoe, different types of last, how to draw a pattern on the last, how to transfer the last design and draw the last on the pullover.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the quality assurance / control processes; material testing and overall product quality.
  • Demonstrate how to define material costs and total cost of product.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the shoe production process.
