During the month of August, Bata Pakistan held the Merchandise Strategy Plan and Store Sales Improvement courses at the Batapur training center in Lahore, under the leadership of Gerard Slotboom and Enrico Bettella.

Twenty participants from the merchandising department and twenty district managers attended these programs, which involved a combination of techniques such as lectures, presentations, practical work, group activities and tests. The courses also included detailed discussions on KPIs, customer profiles, new trends and planning tools.

Muhammad Qayyum, company manager of Bata Pakistan; Shuaib Ahmad, general manager of sales and marketing, and Muhammad Anwar-ul-Haq, general manager of human resources, were also present at the training sessions.

The purpose of the Merchandise Strategy Plan course is to equip the company's team with new skills and knowledge of merchandising strategy and planning in order help them achieve their objectives. The Store Sales Improvement course is designed to provide district managers with the techniques necessary to increase business in stores and allow the company to grow.

This type of training aims to enhance employees’ abilities to work and motivate their teams, in order to achieve their professional goals. The training sessions met requirements by providing core selling techniques and planning methods for improving store sales, and after the training all participants were confident that they had learned useful new methods.

Qayyum commented: “Our operational team comes across multiple challenges in the market, and such training programs definitely enhance the vision and ability of our district managers to achieve their targets.”
