Bata Training Academy Holds Effective Relationship Course in Malaysia

On October 17 and 18, the Bata Training Academy held the Influencing and Effective Relationship course at its training center for Asia-Pacific in Kuala Lumpur.

The aim of the course was to provide participants with a range of specific skills, behaviors and attitudes to enable them to create effective relationships.

The course demonstrated to the group how to use these skills and attitudes to obtain desired results without relying on the use of authority. In addition, it focused on developing a deeper ability to build rapport and empathy, helping those who attended to be equipped with an expanded toolbox of influencing strategies and applications.

A total of 12 participants attended the course, from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. It was attended by buyers, KPI managers, marketing managers, business development managers, retail operations managers, property accountants, among others.

One activity that was particularly appreciated by every member of the group was discovering each participant’s preferred behavioral style. This was done by disclosing to each participant the DISC questionnaire they had previously completed online. They then all had the opportunity to read and go through it in detail, and everyone was thrilled to learn more about themselves based on the four areas of Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance.

Nina Wulandari, Bata Industrials sales executive from Bata Indonesia, commented after the course: “Actually this course was so useful‎ for me as I am the sales person for Bata Industrials in Indonesia. I can see what type of customer I would like to approach and use the right ‘treatment’ with them. I also learned more about myself, and the course is a lot of fun, with good interactive elements.” 

Nani Mohtar, HR executive for Bata Malaysia, added: “I gained a higher confidence level to communicate effectively with others, recognizing different styles, and also gained more understanding about human behaviour.”
